What was your first car?
by nicolaou inmine was an old fiat 127, i bought it 1983 and it was at least fifteen years old then!
the seats were vinyl and there were no rear seatbelts so i could send my girlfriend and her sister flying with each bend in the road!
it wouldn't go above 55mph and was rattling like rollercoaster when it finally got there.. the rear window fell out and it finally croaked in puff of blue/black smoke.

Mine was a really bitch'n. (lol scrounged from a junk yard) '73 Mercury Maverick. (this is identifying info, oh well) I jokingly called it "The Maver--Lac". It was this color too, but not as nice.
I was always a car chick, but being a
poordub at the time, had no $$$ to trick out my ride....... -

Why are we telling Iran they can't have nukes?
by mavie inwatching the democratic debates i was struck how every candidate, save dennis kucinich, pledged to prevent iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
iran is a sovereign state, diplomacy which ends in 'you can't have this, but we can' will not work.
what would happen if another country told us we couldn't have nukes?

Nvr Posted,
"It is time for the U.S. to sponsor a multinational force to physically separate and protect Israel and Palestine from each other, and to then convene an international conference to impose a final settlement. The settlement would include an end to the occupation, evacuation of the settlements, reparations for Palestinian refugees (and also for Jews who fled Arab lands), recognition of Israel by surrounding Arab states and an end to all acts of terror and violence. This is the goal of thousands of American Jews and our non-Jewish allies--who have recently formed the Tikkun Community--a progressive pro-Israel organization. Unwilling to be considered traitors and no longer sure that Jewishness is worth preserving if it means the Jewishness of Sharon, we have joined together because we are not willing to allow our culture and religion to lose its prophetic message of generosity, compassion and open-heartedness. ("Thou shalt love the stranger.") No surprise that we have been greeted by some Jews with their favorite mantra: You are self-hating Jews. "
"separate and protect Israel and Palestine from each other"------they already are, fences and barriers work well.
"convene an international conference to impose a final settlement".--Impose? How would that be done? International ? (that ends up meaning the US and Allies) wtf?
"reparations for Palestinian refugees" -- reparations for the "Palestinians"? Or are they the booted out nomads of neighboring countries?
"Israel by surrounding Arab states and an end to all acts of terror and violence" Okay, sure, but what about our Caliphate?--Hezbollah asks.
Nvr, when you post comments, its assumed you agree unless otherwise stated.

Have You Divorced And/Or Remarried- What Did You Learn From It ?
by flipper inin seeing a lot of posters threads , i feel i see many people who have been divorced at one time , and either have remarried or have stayed single .
i totally understand those who choose to stay single, as i was single for 6 years before i got married again !
as experts say, next to death it's one of the hardest experiences you'll go through !

I was divorced for 5 yrs. It was so lonely, but I wasn't going to settle. After I decided to be single and go out to have fun and enjoy my life with friends, those friends set up my meeting my hubby.
I knew instantly, it was strange. "I'm going to marry him" was the thought that came to mind, I got tongue tied and giggled a lot. He listened to people when they talked, and had a very positive energy.
He's the most energetic, optimistic and smartest person I know. Every day is better than the one before, and it was a true blessing meeting and marrying such a fanastic person. It was worth every day of that 5 yrs.

1st of all, nothing is more embarassing than Congress' current approval rating, nothing.
2nd Gopher, the article says: "The president and his aides argued that the Constitution gives the commander in chief the authority to bypass the 1978 law when necessary to protect national security. They also argued that Congress implicitly endorsed that power when it authorized the use of force against the perpetrators of the attacks."
This is true, and has been exercized by every President since 1978. The only time anyone from the activist media squacks about it is when a republican President uses it. No one, in large numbers anyway, complained about Bill Clinton's similar decisions, that was before 9/11.
3rd Geneva Conventions rules don't apply to terrorists.
Why doesn't Congress outlaw it? B/c this all partisan double speak.

Congress has always declined to outlaw it, 5 times thus far.
But they have to run out and act outraged about it.
